Javed Afridi: The eyes of Peshawar Zalmi's owner are now on the ownership of Chelsea Football Club.

Javed Afridi, owner of Pakistan Super League franchise Peshawar Zalmi, has expressed interest in buying British football club Chelsea.

Javed Afridi has confirmed that he is working with Saudi and British investors to acquire Chelsea.

Javed Afridi, 36, is a businessman from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was educated in the UK.
He is the chief executive of Haier, an electronics company in Pakistan.

He is also associated with the automobile industry but is known to the general public because of the Pakistan Super League in which he owns the participating franchise 'Peshawar Zalmi'.

What is the reason for Abramovich's decision?

Abramovich, 55, is a Russian businessman and politician.
He has also served as governor of the Russian autonomous province of Chokotka and is considered close to President Putin.

He bought the English football club Chelsea in June 2003.
Despite him, Chelsea have won the English Premier League five times, and Chelsea have achieved a number of major victories in European football during his tenure.

However, in 2005 Chelsea announced a loss of 140 million.
Abramovich came under fire last year when he announced Chelsea's inclusion in the controversial European Super League.

Roman Abramovich's decision to sell Chelsea is being seen in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Chelsea Football Club has issued a statement to Roman Abramovich on Wednesday night stating that there has been a lot of speculation in the media about his ownership of Chelsea over the past few days.
The statement said that he (Roman Abramovich) had made all the decisions in Chelsea's favor so far and in the current situation he considered it appropriate to sell Chelsea to the club.

Abramovich added that he believed the decision was in the best interests of the club, its employees, fans, sponsors and partners.
Abramovich has also made it clear that the process of selling Chelsea will not be immediate, but rather that procedures will be worked out.

He also says that he will not take any loan in this regard as it is not a matter of business or money for him but he has been obsessed with the club and the game all the time.
According to newspaper reports, the Chelsea football club is said to be worth around four billion US dollars and a Swiss businessman is being named among the potential buyers.

Abramovich has instructed his colleagues to set up a charity so that all proceeds from the sale can be donated. The foundation will benefit victims of the Ukraine war.
This assistance will be immediate and then on a long-term basis.
